EXHIBITIONS, FILM PROGRAMS, PROJECTS   2012

February 10 – April 1. No Worries. Life is Just Beginning. An exhibition by two brothers from New York: Audrius Naujokaitis and Dalius Naujo-Naujokaitis.

April 17 – May 1. The United European States.  A traveling exhibition focusing on European identity and today’s Europe.

May 11 – 31. He’s from Kaunas. An exhibition of the works of George Maciunas at the Kaunas Ministry of Fluxus.

May 16 – 19. An exceptional film program at the Rodina Film Center in St. Petersburg, Russia by legendary filmmaker/diarist Jonas Mekas.

May 18 – June 10. PRO project. Interdisciplinary art exhibition.

May 28 – 29. The best known films of legendary Jonas Mekas were shown at the Riga International Film Festival.

June 15 – 17. Reminiscences of Germany (Remineszencen aus Deutschland ). Exhibition of photographs by Jonas Mekas together with his film premiere at the Wiesbaden Schaufenster Stadtmuseum in Wiesbaden, Germany.

June 27. Sleepless Nights (2011). A film by avant garde film legend Jonas Mekas was presented at the Klaipeda Cultural Communications Center. An introduction was made by Ramunas Cicelis.

August 8 – September 15. Glitchr.  Web artist Laimonas Zakas presented his project.

October 16 – November 10. Reminiscences of Germany. An exhibition of distinguished filmmaker’s Jonas Mekas’ film and photo works were presented to celebrate Jonas Mekas’ 90th birthday.

November 27, 2012 – January 15, 2013. An extensive retrospective of the largely unseen work of independent filmmaker Adolfas Mekas (1925 – 2011) was presented in Vilnius, Kaunas and Klaipeda, Lithuania.

December 11, 2012 – February 2, 2013. Anything Can Substitute Art: Maciunas in SOHO. An exhibition from the collection of the JMVAC featuring works by George Maciunas and the Fluxus movement took place at the Cooper Union Gallery in New York.
