It’s as if an unseen, undefined, ephemeral topic has been chosen on purpose and not by chance and is a unique combination of questions and feelings that are hard to describe in words. It’s like marching forward without any sense of time, when you have realized the fragility of it all.
The exhibition featuring the collection of Visions Down the River came about when I was walking along the edge of the river and while passing by persons from the past, I began to think that it’s not important what is happening around us and is reflected in the water because the river will always continue to calmly flow on. Everything is in a state of constant flux and so, both I and the ostensible hero of the collection feel lost and distanced from a society that is all- knowing, but has only a limited amount of suitable opinions and answers.
The exhibition of the collection was created in conjunction with contemporary video-artist Aurelija Maknytė, scents’ artist Laimė Kiškūnė, sculptor Vytautas Viržbickas, especially created for the Somerset House space in London and presented at the international fashion design bienalle, The International Fashion Showcase organized by the British Council, British Fashion Council, London College of Fashion and the Somerset House. Partners: Lithuanian Cultural Institute, Embassy of Lithuania in the United Kingdom.
