January 3. Sarunas Bartas film retrospective. Fluxus Performances exhibition.

February 16. Jonas Mekas’ Lithuania and the Collapse of the USSR broadcast on Lithuanian National Television through the efforts of the JMVAC on the occasion of the celebration of Lithuania’s 20th independence anniversary.

March. Free time, sports, culture. Exhibition.

April 23. The Ministry of Fluxus was opened on the premises of the former Ministry of Health as an incubator for the realization of the projects and ideas of young artists.

June 1 – September 1. George Maciunas: Father of SoHo. An exhibition based on the core collection of Fluxus art held by the JMVAC that explored the beginnings of the SoHo neighborhood in New York. Illegal Living: 80 Wooster Street and the Evolution of SoHo – a book by Roz Bernstein and Shael Shapiro was published as a highlight of the opening of this exhibition.

June 8. Presentation of Illegal Living: 80 Wooster Street and the Evolution of SoHo presented for the first time to a Lithuanian audience. Authors Roz Bernstein and Shael Shapiro were on hand to discuss the book and answer questions.

June.  With Love from New York. Exhibition of works from the JMVAC Fluxus collection at the Museum of Modern Art in Kiev, Ukraine.  The exhibition was the most successful cultural event in Ukraine that year.

September 29. Illegal Living: 80 Wooster Street and the Evolution of SoHo debuted to an American audience on the premises of the first Fluxus Cooperative established by George Maciunas at 80 Wooster St. The book by Roz Bernstein and Shael Shapiro has received recognition as one of the best documentary books published in the U.S.

September 8 – October 15. Tricks of an Ideal Perspective. Exhibition of works by contemporary Lithuanian artists.

November 11. The Key to Art. A new exhibition of works from the JMVAC’s Fluxus collection was opened on the occasion of George Maciunas 79th birthday.
