2026 02 07 Guided Tour | Screening of the Adolfas Mekas’ film “Hallelujah the Hills”
On Saturday, February 7, at 2 pm, we invite you to visit the Jonas Mekas Visual Arts Center, where a guided tour of the exhibition “Adolfas Mekas. Cinema and Word” will take place.
The tour will be led by the exhibition curators: art critic Laima Kreivytė and composer Gintaras Sodeika.
After the tour, you are invited to a screening of Adolfas Mekas’ film “Hallelujah the Hills”.
About the film:
Hallelujah the Hills (1963) is Adolfas Mekas’ first and most important feature-length film. With irony and gentle absurdity, it portrays young artists wandering through American landscapes. The film playfully breaks the rules of traditional narrative, combining improvisation, poetry, and existential reflections on freedom, creativity, and the meaning of life.
Duration of the guided tour: 30 minutes
Film duration: 1 hour 22 minutes
