The Fluxus Bridge was unveiled in U\u017eupis to symbolically celebrate the return of Jonas Mekas\u2019 and Jurgis Maciunas\u2019 works to Lithuania.<\/li>\n<li>&nbsp;<\/li>\n<li>August 26. The JMVAC, together with the string orchestra of Camerata Klaip\u0117da presented composer Vidmantas Bartulis\u2019 and video installation artist Julius Zis\u2019 work <em>Sapnai (Dreams)<\/em> at the Pa\u017eaislis Music Festival. This was an inter-disciplinary project uniting music and video art in the style of Jonas Mekas. Violinist Vilhelmas \u010cepinskis, pianist Petras Geniu\u0161as and the string orchestra of Camerata Klaip\u0117da executed the performance.<\/li>\n<li>&nbsp;<\/li>\n<li>September 16-26. In a joint project with the international small films festival <em>Tinklai (Nets)<\/em>, the JMVAC presented audiences in Vilnius and Klaip\u0117da with honorary guests and representatives of New American Cinema filmmaker and director Adolfas Mekas and experimental filmmaker Pola Chapelle.<\/li>\n<li>&nbsp;<\/li>\n<li>November 4. <span style=\"color: #ff6600;\">Grand opening of the JMVC Gallery at Gyn\u0117j\u0173 g. First exhibition: <em>Avant-garde. From Futurism to FLUXUS. <\/em><\/span>The exhibition presented the most important members of the avant-garde movement and a variety of art forms: films and their stills, literature, works and documents from the Fluxus movement, sculptures.<\/li>\n<li>&nbsp;<\/li>\n<li>November 4. The evening was devoted to a special program developed by Jonas Mekas at the <em>Skalvija <\/em>movie theatre of the most important films reflecting the aesthetic and world-view of the avant-garde.<\/li>\n<li>&nbsp;<\/li>\n<li>November 8. <span style=\"color: #ff6600;\">Celebration of George Maciunas\u2019 birthday.<\/span><\/li>\n<li>&nbsp;<\/li>\n<li>Each Saturday evening at the JMVAC there were screenings of Fluxus, Jonas Mekas\u2019 and other avant-garde films as part of the program <em>A Different Kind of Movie for Saturday<\/em> that was geared for fans of non-Hollywood films.<\/li>\n<li>&nbsp;<\/li>\n<li>December 1.
